The Medical Library collection consists of reference and lending materials on medical, nursing, allied health, healthcare administration, and consumer health. Staff is available to assist patrons in the use of the collection and in locating specific information weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except when closed for hospital observed holidays). This service is available for all Halifax Regional Medical Center employees, physicians, healthcare professionals, students, patients, and patients’ families. Literature Searches Medical, nursing, healthcare administration, and consumer health searches are available from the National Library of Medicine databases. Search results can be printed out or forwarded to your email address. This service is available for Halifax Regional Medical Center employees, physicians, healthcare professionals, and students. Please email your search topics to lpowell@halifaxrmc.org. Interlibrary Loans and Document Delivery Books, journal articles, or audiovisuals needed for patient care or work-related projects but not owned by the Halifax Regional Medical Center may be obtained from other libraries or sources. Conducting Your Own Search The library has three PC workstations available for library patrons to perform their own searches. The PubMed database is available free on these computers. The AHEC Digital Library is also available for authorized users with a password.
